This apartment is part of a small complex with just six other units. Fun fact: it used to be a laundromat (“Vaskeriet” in Danish) back in the 1930's. Over the years, the space has served various commercial purposes, including a driving school, before we transformed it into a cozy, modern apartment in 2025.
Because of its original purpose when the building was first constructed, we call the apartment ‘Vaskeriet,’ which translates to ‘The Laundromat.
A couple of things to note:
1. Guests will have full access to the apartment, except for one small closet where we store a few personal items. There’s also a shared outdoor patio table available for use by all tenants, including you. Since we regularly stay here ourselves, the space is well-equipped with everything you need for daily living, and then some.
2. The bedroom features a large king-size bed. We also have a comfortable queen-size air mattress, and a pull out bed, that can be set up in the living room. While these are not traditional mattresses, they work well for some additional sleeping spaces.
3. The apartment is split across two floors, with the bedroom and bathroom downstairs and the kitchen and living room upstairs. There’s a small staircase with wide steps and easy to navigate, but good to be aware of in advance.
4. We personally renovated the apartment from top to bottom, and it’s our home when we’re in Denmark. A lot of love, time, and care went into making it what it is, so we kindly ask that you treat it with the same respect we do. Thank you :)
